Rethinking What Education Looks Like

by Milena Alvarado Jaramillo, Ximena Colán de la Vega, Agatha Andriantari Saputri and Nabila Ananda Putri M.

This new episode of the Thoughts for a More Sustainable World podcast takes listeners on a journey around the world to explore how socially innovative initiatives in the Global South are contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education. In just 15 minutes, Rethinking What Education Looks Like challenges common concerns about the capacity of countries in the Global South to address issues such as gender equity, inclusivity, and access to learning environments in the field of education. Through success stories from experiences in Guatemala, South Africa, the Philippines, and Indonesia, the episode highlights how these contexts draw on deep reservoirs of creativity and resilience to set new benchmarks for quality education, often going beyond conventional global indicators.
